Town Hall

The Town Hall (built 1924-1926) was planned by Aladár Árkay and his son, Bertalan. The Town Hall is a bulding in Hungarian style, ornated with Oriental motifs, crowned by corner- and tower domes. The enormous tapestry showing the legend of the Busó Carnival - designed by István Bán, handicraftsman of Mohács origin - in the aula of the Town Hall.

The Saint Nicholas Watermill

A traveller interested in the sights of Mohács and the town's vicinity should not depart without visiting the city's watermill of medieval origin. The first written evidence of a mill system on Creek Csele can be found in a memorial from 1331. The Turkish tax census of 1591 already mentions the number of mills along the creek in Mohács, among them the predecessor of our mill.

The Roman catholic Votive Memorial Church of the Mohács Battle is a delightful sight. It is not only a symbol of the town, but in a way also that of our whole nation. It was declared a national monument in 1989.
